Job summary

The City of Kennesaw’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a Special Events Coordinator to develop and manage city events. You will design event concepts, layouts, and timelines, secure venues, and oversee budgets to ensure successful delivery of engaging community programs.

You will coordinate pre- and post-event activities, manage vendor contracts, permits, safety procedures, and provide excellent customer service to residents and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Event Planning, Arts Administration, Management, Entertainment Management, Hospitality Management, or related field; supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in special events planning and coordination, event production, hospitality, marketing, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and implement special events for the City; create and develop theme, design and layout of events; schedule events; establish, update and maintain timelines for events; secure event site; layout space; design event flow, crowd layout and control, etc.
