Job summary

The City of Kennesaw, GA seeks an Athletic Coordinator to plan, organize, coordinate and supervise a wide variety of athletic programs within the Parks and Recreation Department. This role oversees youth and adult leagues, sports camps, and community activities, collaborating with local associations and facility staff to ensure high-quality program delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Leisure Services or related field; supplemented by three years of progressively responsible experience in recreation programming; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• May be required to obtain and maintain CPR and Certified Parks and Recreation Professional certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff with performance appraisals.
• Organize and oversee athletic programs and activities with partners and associations; manage policies, scheduling, safety, and risk.
• Coordinate daily operations, staffing, schedules, and program quality.
• Plan and coordinate athletic programs including youth and adult leagues and camps.
• Promote programs via materials, website updates, emails, and presentations.
