Job summary

Weber County Library is seeking energetic individuals for part-time roles at multiple locations. You will serve patrons at the circulation desk, issue and renew library cards, handle holds and fines, and assist with repairs of materials.

You will also guide users in self-checkout, book returns, and basic technology like printers and public computers. This role emphasizes teamwork, customer service, accuracy, and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service/retail experience.
• Ability to use library software and standard office tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line customer service at the circulation desk, in person, over the telephone, and online.
• Instruct the public in use of the Library's automated book return system and self-checkout units.
• Follow through on procedures for collection evaluation and maintenance; contribute to processing and maintenance of specialty collections.
• Perform circulation-related and clerical tasks, including handling money, issuing library cards, inspecting condition of returned materials, and mending print/nonprint materials according to Library procedure.
• Instruct patrons in use of basic technology resources, such as printers, scanners, copiers, and public computers.
• Actively promote Library resources, programs, and services during patron interactions.
• Preserve safety, appearance, and condition of Library facilities and property.
