Job summary

NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking a Senior Advisor to the CIO within the Bureau of Information Technology (BIT). The role coordinates centralized IT functions, monitors performance, and aligns BIT initiatives with agency goals to deliver high-quality technology solutions for New Yorkers.

The Senior Advisor acts as the CIO’s primary operational partner, manages cross-functional projects, develops executive dashboards, and supports budgeting and procurement processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four years of related experience, or
• Associate degree plus six years of related experience, or
• Bachelor's degree and eight years of related experience, or equivalent
• Experience with IT operations, governance, and project portfolio management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as CIO's trusted advisor and operational partner, supporting IT priorities.
• Coordinate day-to-day IT operations across BIT units.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to identify risks, priorities, and resolutions.
• Develop processes to improve operational effectiveness, accountability, and transparency.
