Job summary

GE Vernova invites motivated students to join the Critical Infrastructure Communication Engineering team as interns. You will learn our product portfolio, contribute to a next generation product line, and assist with subsystem design and development.

You will apply Java, C, or C++ skills to design, develop, and test software, while integrating GE Cloud DevOps into CI/CD. This internship runs May–Dec 2027 with a 40‑hour work week.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a full‑time undergraduate or graduate program in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (undetected rounding) required.
• Experience in Linux and Windows administration.
• Experience in software development and revision control (Git/GitHub).
• Experience in Python scripting and Linux Bash/Windows Batch scripts.
• Some knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, SSH, HTTP, DHCP).
• Understanding of software design principles and agile processes.

Responsibilities

• Learn GE Vernova's product portfolio and develop on a product line.
• Join a development team working on a next generation product line.
• Assist with subsystem design/development in software engineering.
• Design, develop, and test software using Java, C, or C++.
• Integrate GE Cloud DevOps into CI/CD processes (e.g., Python Robot Framework).
• Report progress to project management and estimate task effort.
• Deliver customer outcomes and learn disciplined software design techniques.
