Job summary

GE Vernova invites students to join the Critical Infrastructure Communication (CIC) Engineering Team for an internship in Rochester, NY. You will learn our product portfolio and contribute as a developer on a next-generation product line across Java, C, or C++.

You’ll gain experience with cloud DevOps tools and GE’s CI/CD processes while working under supervision on real features. The role requires enrolled full-time students with a minimum 3.0 GPA and hands-on skills in software development,

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in a technical field (Engineering, CS, CE, or IT).
Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
Experience in Computer and Networking administration (Linux, Windows).
Experience in software development and revision control (git/GitHub).
Ability to follow formal software design principles and development processes.
Experience in Python scripting and Linux Bash/Windows Batch scripts.

Responsibilities

Learn GE Vernova CIC product portfolio and become a developer on a product line.
Be part of an active development team working on a next generation product line.
Contribute to designing/developing sub-systems and features in software development.
Use Java, C, or C++ to design, develop and test software.
Assist integration of GE Cloud DevOps tools into GE MDS CI/CD process.
Report progress to project management and help with task prioritization.
