affirm is hiring a Software Engineer II - CIAM in Portland, mid-level, to build secure authentication features and backend services powering registration, login, and account lifecycles. You will work with Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock, and a collaborative team across product and security.

You should be comfortable with Python or Kotlin, APIs, data structures, and version control, and eager to grow in secure development practices within a remote-first company with offices in multiple cities.

Formación

• Proven ability to write, test, and debug software in Python or Kotlin.
• Foundational backend development knowledge: APIs, data structures, databases, version control.
• Interest in authentication, security, and scalable CIAM solutions.

Responsabilidades

• Build and ship customer-facing authentication features from login to MFA and device binding, with mentorship.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin to power registration, login, and authorization for B2C/B2B.
• Integrate with identity technologies like Okta, Auth0, and ForgeRock across web, mobile, and partner apps.
• Contribute to design, write readable code, implement automated tests, and participate in code reviews.
• Debug services, improve reliability, and monitor production using logs and metrics.
• Collaborate with engineers, product, and security teams to grow expertise in authentication.
