Job summary

AFFIRM, Inc. is seeking a mid‑level Software Engineer to join our Information Security team. You’ll help build and maintain backend services powering registration, login, and account lifecycle across B2C and B2B experiences, with a focus on secure, scalable authentication.

You’ll work with Python or Kotlin, integrate with Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock, and participate in design, testing, and production deployment while leveraging mentorship to grow your skills in authentication and security.

Qualifications

• Write, test, and debug software in Python, Kotlin, or similar language.
• Foundational backend development knowledge: APIs, data structures, databases, version control.
• Interest in authentication and CIAM concepts; eagerness to learn.
• Willingness to learn via mentorship and code reviews; good collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer-facing authentication features with guidance.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin.
• Integrate with identity platforms like Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock for web and mobile.
• Follow SDLC: design, code, test, review, and deploy with team support.
• Diagnose reliability issues using logs and metrics to improve production behavior.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to enhance authentication.
