Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is building the next generation of customer identity and authentication. We’re hiring a hands-on, mid-level engineer to own backend services powering registration, login, and account lifecycle across B2C and B2B.

You’ll work with Python or Kotlin, integrate Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock, and contribute across design, tests, and production deployment. Join a remote-first team with strong security, reliability, and operational rigor.

Qualifications

• Experience writing Python or Kotlin code and tests.
• Foundational backend development knowledge (APIs, databases, data structures).
• Interest in authentication/CIAM concepts and secure experiences.
• Willingness to learn via mentorship and code reviews.
• Clear communication and collaboration with engineering, product, and security teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship backend authentication features, including login and MFA.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin.
• Integrate identity platforms like Okta, Auth0, and ForgeRock.
• Take features through design, testing, reviews, and production deployment.
• Debug services, improve reliability, and analyze production metrics.
• Collaborate with engineers, product, and security teams to grow CIAM expertise.
