Job summary

The GEO Group in Milton, Florida, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care in a correctional setting. You will perform physical assessments, assist physicians, administer medications, and ensure safety and confidentiality of medical records.

This role requires an active RN license in Florida and at least two years of direct nursing experience. You will work under physician orders with supervision of LPN staff where applicable and participate in chronic disease

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state where the facility is located.
• Two years of direct work experience preferred.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and perform nursing diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete physical assessments and medical histories on detainees entering the facility.
• Assist physician with sick calls and minor procedures; refer complex cases.
• Ensure physician orders are followed and medications dispensed correctly.
• Conduct observation rounds, document progress, and report problems.
• Maintain security in medication handling and prevent drug hoarding.
• Prepare reports and maintain compliance with policies.
• Coordinate Chronic Disease Clinic scheduling and supervise LPN staff.
