The role involves physical assessments, medication administration, physician support, and documentation while ensuring safety and confidentiality. You will also supervise LPN staff and participate in quality reporting and patient reentry initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an approved program.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and provides comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting while observing security requirements.
• Performs physical assessments and medical history reviews for detainees entering the system.
• Assists physician with sick calls and minor procedures; administers medications as ordered.
• Maintains medication security and proper disposal of needles/syringes; keeps detailed progress notes.
• Supervises LPN staff and contributes to performance evaluations; completes required reports.
