Responsibilities

• Summary: The Registered Nurse initiates and provides comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting while observing and maintaining the requirements of operational security.
• Perform complete physical assessments and review medical history for detainees entering the system.
• Assist physician with sick call and minor procedures; refer issues as needed.
• Ensure orders are implemented and medications are administered as prescribed.
• Document contacts, maintain confidentiality of medical records, and coordinate Chronic Disease Clinic scheduling.
• Supervise LPN staff and contribute to performance evaluations.
