Job summary

NSA’s Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs) work across the Intelligence Community, applying language skills to SIGINT analysis and reporting. The LADP offers intensive training with multiple operational tours, while direct hire paths focus on analytic missions within NSA.

The role emphasizes language proficiency (ILR 2/2 or higher), collaboration with partners, and delivering timely, high-quality assessments to policymakers and stakeholders in a demanding security environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum ILR level 2/2 in reading and listening for the target language.
• Experience in translation, transcription, or analysis in a language-related role acceptable.
• Broad analytical knowledge across national security topics is valued.

Responsibilities

• Engage with partners, enablers, and customers across the Intelligence Community.
• Analyze foreign language materials and generate SIGINT reports as needed.
• Support LADP or direct hire into analytic mission offices.
• Mentor and coach other Language Analysts as appropriate.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of language-based intelligence products.
