Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Part-time Childwatch Site Lead to provide safe, engaging care for children while guardians participate in YMCA activities. You will lead age-appropriate activities, monitor behavior, and ensure a welcoming environment in line with YMCA values.

You will collaborate with the Program Director, maintain accurate records, and communicate with families about children’s progress.

Qualifications

• Requires CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.
• Ability to engage with children positively and create a learning environment.
• Strong awareness of child safety and emergency response.
• Experience with youth in childcare settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Childwatch operations to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
• Monitor activities for safety and age-appropriate behavior.
• Maintain attendance, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
• Administer basic needs and assist with restrooms and diaper changes as needed.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about child progress and concerns.
• Assist with program planning, activities, and curriculum adherence.
• Coordinate with Program Director on issues and improvements.
