Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Part-Time Childwatch Site Lead at our Houston location. You will supervise Childwatch activities, ensure safety, plan age-appropriate activities, and promote YMCA core values.

Responsibilities include site management, supervising children, maintaining attendance records, communicating with parents, and coordinating with staff. Must be at least 21, HS diploma, and CPR/First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience working with youth in childcare, church, school or equivalent (preferred).
• Must be able to pass CPR, First Aid, AED trainings and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Site Management: oversee daily operations of the Childwatch program ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.
• Supervision and Safety: monitor activities, perform headcounts, and respond to emergencies per YMCA protocols.
• Behavior Management: use positive techniques to foster respectful, inclusive behavior.
• Program Planning: implement age-appropriate activities per YMCA approved curriculum and safety standards.
• Relationship Building: maintain positive relations with children, parents/guardians, and staff.
• Administrative Duties: check children in/out using designated software and maintain records.
