Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Part-time Childwatch Site Lead to create a safe, engaging environment for children while parents participate in YMCA activities. You will supervise, implement age-appropriate activities, and enforce safety and program policies to support youth development and YMCA values.

Responsibilities include leading daily operations, managing attendance and safety records, and maintaining a clean, welcoming space.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of youth experience preferred (childcare, church, school).
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required.
• Background check required (local/state/FBI).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operation of the Childwatch program to ensure safety and engagement.
• Monitor activities and ensure age-appropriate behavior and YMCA policy adherence.
• Record attendance, incidents, and compliance documentation; conduct headcounts.
• Assist with diaper changes, feeding, restroom needs; report any concerns to Program Director.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the site and equipment.
• Communicate with families about child progress and concerns; participate in staff trainings.
