At Devereux, as a Behavioral Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with children ages 8-21 with BH/MH diagnoses and will impact their lives by unlocking their full potential daily.
Many youths in this program have skill deficits in impulse control, emotion regulation, and developmental skills, often due to trauma. This trauma can affect their resilience, leading to feelings of emptiness, fear, abandonment, impulsivity, emotion dysregulation, and self-destructive behaviors. These traits can result in challenges in school, family conflicts, dependency, delinquency, lack of peer support, and difficulties in vocational and life skills.
Available Shift: 7am - 3pm | 2pm - 10pm | 10pm - 8am
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday | Tuesday - Saturday | Every Other Weekend
Compensation: $17.50 - $22.48/hr (based on experience and education)
Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) provides services for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral or psychiatric challenges. Located in West Chester and Malvern, services include psychiatric residential treatment, community-based mental health services, employment training, social skills training, and educational services for children aged 6-21 with various diagnoses.
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Education evaluated if acquired outside the U.S.
Experience: Preferred but not required. Experience with individuals with psychological, emotional, behavioral disorders, trauma, or autism is advantageous. Must manage multiple tasks, have proficient communication and computer skills (Outlook, SharePoint, EHR, Microsoft Office), and hold a valid driver’s license.
