UPMC Children's Hospital is hiring a Behavioral Health Technician II to work at the South satellite located at 205 Millers Run Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
The Behavioral Health Technician II will provide independent clinical treatment services to targeted populations. This outpatient treatment program serves patients with mental health diagnoses who meet criteria for outpatient and/or partial hospitalization treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily records of clinical productivity as instructed.
- Provide individual and group therapy in home, school, and community settings, engaging families in assessment and treatment, and educate patients on recovery.
- Participate in treatment team meetings to discuss cases, update treatment plans, monitor progress, and make referral recommendations.
- Use evidence-based treatment approaches appropriate to the program.
- Conduct assessments of new patients, document findings, and make clinical decisions regarding treatment and referrals.
- Create comprehensive treatment plans addressing patients' needs.
- Participate in regulatory and licensure activities with leadership.
- Manage administrative responsibilities independently, including caseload and documentation.
- Document all clinical work promptly and coordinate with insurance providers for authorization.
- Enhance clinical skills through ongoing learning of new treatment approaches.
- Review cases and clinical changes with supervisors as needed.
- Complete documentation on the day of service and communicate with relevant staff for authorization.
- Mentor student interns and participate in quality assurance activities.
- Assess changing patient needs and incorporate into treatment plans, referring to other services as needed.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or related field.
- At least two years of clinical experience diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions.
- Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation, assessment, and DSM application.
Licensure and Clearances:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Valid Act 31, 33, 34, and FBI (Act 73) clearances with renewal.
