Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a Childcare Provider 2 to assist the Childcare Specialist in planning before and after school activities and supervise children. The role supports a structured program, ensuring safety and engagement during supervision periods.

Responsibilities include maintaining rapport with students, staff and the community, preparing activities, and enforcing conduct per policy; required are First Aid/CPR readiness and ongoing training for compliance.

Qualifications

• Must meet staff qualifications for teacher-caregiver per Arizona rules, 18+, documentation of one option.
• Diploma or GED plus six months of qualifying childcare experience.
• 12 college credits, including 6 in early childhood, plus 6 months childcare experience.
• NAC, CDA, CCP, or CPC credential, or an equivalent degree.
• Associate or bachelor degree in early childhood, child development, or related field.

Responsabilités

• Prepare site and activities before children arrive.
• Supervise the children at all times.
• Administer first aid when necessary.
• Treat every child with respect.
• Maintain behavior standards per district/policy.
• Inform Childcare Specialist about student activities.
• Participate in cleaning up activities.
• Complete 18 training hours annually per Health Services regulations.
• All other job-related duties as assigned.

Shift Hours: 6:45-8:45am & 2:15-6:15pm
Split Shift Required
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Position Objective
The job Childcare Provider 2 is done for the purposes of assisting the Childcare Specialist with the planning of the before and after school program and supervision of children.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and community.
• Make sure that site and activities are prepared prior to children’s arrival.
• Supervise the children at all times.
• Administer first aid when necessary.
• Treat every child with respect.
• Maintain acceptable behavior standards and make sure that behavior is consistent with district and program policy.
• Keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities.
• Share and participate in clean up activities.
• Annually complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training per department of Health Services regulations.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require):
Qualifications
Must meet the staff qualifications to be a teacher-caregiver under section R9-5-401 of the Arizona Administrative Code. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and provide written documentation of one of the following:

• A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and six months of qualifying child care experience;
• At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university including at least 6 credits in in early childhood education and 6 months qualifying childcare experience.
• N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or
• Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of early childhood, child development or closely related field.
  

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: (positions in this class typically require):
Licensing Requirements

• See required experience
• Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
• Background in early childhood education or related fields.
• Hold current first aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain within 30 days.
