Job summary

The Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a Childcare Provider 2 to assist the Childcare Specialist with planning the before and after school program and supervising students. The role emphasizes safety, positive supervision, and ensuring activities run smoothly.

Duties include building rapport with students and staff, preparing sites prior to arrivals, supervising at all times, administering first aid when necessary, and helping maintain district policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of qualifying childcare experience.
• At least 12 college credits including 6 in early childhood and 6 months qualifying childcare experience.
• N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or
• Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain acceptable behavior standards and ensure compliance with district and program policy.
• Annually complete a minimum of 18 verifiable training hours as per Health Services regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and community.
• Make sure that site and activities are prepared prior to children's arrival.
• Supervise the children at all times.
• Administer first aid when necessary.
• Treat every child with respect.
• Maintain acceptable behavior standards and make sure that behavior is consistent with district and program policy.
• Keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities.
• Share and participate in clean up activities.
• Annually complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training per department of Health Services regulations.
• Other job related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and six months of qualifying child care experience;
• At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university including at least 6 credits in in early childhood education and 6 months qualifying childcare experience.
• N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or
• Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of early childhood, child development or closely related field.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
• Background in early childhood education or related fields.
• Hold current first aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain within 30 days.

Physical Requirements
