Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a Childcare Provider 2 to assist the Childcare Specialist in planning before/after school activities and supervising children in the program.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with childcare experience, plus possible credentials in early childhood education. Training and compliance with health and safety regulations are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 6 months childcare experience.
• At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college including 6 credits in early childhood education and 6 months childcare experience.
• N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or
• Associate or bachelor degree in early childhood or related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain rapport with students, employees and community.
• Prepare site and activities before children’s arrival.
• Supervise children at all times.
• Administer first aid when necessary.
• Treat every child with respect.
• Maintain behavior standards per district policy.
• Inform Childcare Specialist of student activities.
• Participate in cleanup activities.
• Complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training per Health Services regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and community.
• Make sure that site and activities are prepared prior to children's arrival.
• Supervise the children at all times.
• Administer first aid when necessary.
• Treat every child with respect.
• Maintain acceptable behavior standards and make sure that behavior is consistent with district and program policy.
• Keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities.
• Share and participate in clean up activities.
• Annually complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training per department of Health Services regulations.
• Other job related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and six months of qualifying child care experience;
• At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university including at least 6 credits in in early childhood education and 6 months qualifying childcare experience.
• N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or
• Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in the areas of early childhood, child development or closely related field.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
• Background in early childhood education or related fields.
• Hold current first aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain within 30 days.
