Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services seeks a CWS Case Manager Investigations to perform timely initial investigations of child abuse and neglect and coordinate services to children and families while supporting on-call duties.

You will manage a caseload, conduct safety assessments using FAST, engage families and partners with empathy, document thoroughly in CAPSS, and participate in team meetings and service referrals to promote safety, permanency and well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
• Master's degree may substitute for the required work experience.
• Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely initial investigations of reports of child abuse and neglect and coordinate services to children and families.
• Maintain case records and documentation in CAPSS per DSS policy.
• Engage families, law enforcement and legal partners with empathy and respect; respond to inquiries promptly.
• Locate and engage absent parents, relatives and kin to support the child welfare team.
• Provide timely service referrals and safety planning based on initial assessments.
