Job summary

State of South Carolina's Department of Social Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Case Worker Assistant in Darlington County. The role supports caseworkers with assessments, family preservation, and foster care activities, and helps arrange transportation to community resources.

You will join a team handling client services, maintain records, and assist with administrative tasks while protecting sensitive information and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with 3 years’ experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration or general business.
• Associate Degree with 1 year of related experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide casework services in assessment, family preservation and foster care.
• Coordinate transportation to community resources as part of aide plan.
• Participate as a professional team member to plan services for clients.
• Request medical, dental, law enforcement records as needed.
• Make referrals to service providers and other processes.
• Assist with Foster Care Review Board packets and transportation of children.
• Assist with visitation and other administrative support tasks.
