Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking candidates for the Child Welfare Services Case Worker Assistant role within Chester County. You will support casework in assessment, family preservation and foster care, and help plan services with a professional team.

You may assist with transportation, records requests, referrals, and packet preparation while ensuring the privacy of personal information. This role requires a valid driver's license and field work readiness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and three years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business or general business experience.
• An Associate Degree and two years of experience in clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business, business administration, or general business.
• A Bachelor's Degree may substitute for part or all of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to remedy abuse, neglect, exploitation, or self-neglect of adults or children.
• Assist with assessment, family preservation and foster care.
• Arrange transportation to community resources as part of social service aide plan.
• Prepare and refer to service providers, group conferencing and other referrals.
• Assist with Foster Care Review Board, IV-E, Home Studies and ICPC packets.
