Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Part-Time Child Watch Attendant at Gordon Family YMCA in Sumner, WA. You will provide a safe, caring, and engaging environment for children from 6 weeks to 7 years while parents participate in YMCA activities.

Qualifications include minimum age 15, related experience preferred, and the ability to pass background checks. CPR/First Aid/AED are preferred. The role offers flexible scheduling up to 25 hours per week and access to YMCA benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 15 or older.
• Six months or more related experience preferred.
• Comfort and confidence working with children.
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred.
• Must pass Background and Reference checks per WA state law.

Responsibilities

• Care for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years.
• Monitor drop-off and pick-up of children.
• Play actively with children and tailor activities to each child.
• Communicate with parents regarding behavior and safety.
• Help maintain cleanliness and order in the child watch area.
