You will manage caseloads, locate absent parents, and coordinate with courts, employers, and agencies to ensure compliance with regulations. Strong typing and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or its equivalent.
• Three or more years of responsible office experience related to financial counseling, investigation, or legal work.
• Post high school education may substitute for work experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Ability to type neatly and accurately at 45 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Manages a child support caseload for compliance with state and federal regulations using KIDS statewide computer system and other reports.
• Gathers information from participants for child support enforcement, paternity, and medical insurance.
• Recommends cases for court action and prepares pleadings for attorneys.
• Interviews and communicates with parents, employers, attorneys, and other entities to obtain information.
• Locates absent parents, verifies information, and assists with service of process.
• Initiates intergovernmental referrals and responds to referrals from other states.
• Testifies in court regarding actions to establish, modify, or enforce support obligations.
• Ensures federal timelines and criteria are met; determines eligibility for case closure.
