Job summary

Alpha is seeking a Director of Learning & Development to lead educational programs and coach Guides across cohorts. You will ensure learners develop enthusiasm for school, progress rapidly, and acquire real-world skills through Alpha’s framework.

In this role you will manage a growing team, coordinate with campus leadership, and drive outcomes with a data-informed approach while maintaining high standards for student engagement and program quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or comparable field.
• Proven leadership record managing teams of 5+ individuals, including hiring and performance-based decisions.
• Direct experience working with children ages 5–14 in educational contexts.
• Strong capability in leveraging data and metrics to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Execute Alpha's 3 Promises throughout your cohort and Guides under your supervision: genuine love for school, 2x learning pace, authentic life skills.
• Facilitate one-hour interactive workshops on life skills and SEL for K-8 students.
• Mentor and coach Guides to deliver enthusiastic workshops with accuracy.
• Analyze Coachbot data and student records to identify needing support and provide it.
• Directly mentoring your assigned student cohort to model the coaching techniques expected of Guides.
