Job summary

Apex Companies LLC is seeking a Director of Learning & Development to shape and scale talent enablement across the organization. This role connects business strategy with capability building, accelerating onboarding, assimilation and growth from early-career to leadership levels.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the director will drive a high-performance culture, manage executive development, and partner with accrediting bodies to ensure ongoing professional education while delivering

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in learning, organizational design, talent development, or human capital management, with at least 5+ within a professional services environment.
• Partnership Savvy & Executive Presence: Demonstrated credibility and track record influencing senior partners, practice leaders, and executive stakeholders who possess rigorous technical and commercial standards.
• Instructional Design & Commercial Acumen: Mastery of modern adult learning principles, leadership frameworks, performance consulting, and experiential simulation designs tailored to billable professionals.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Proven success mentoring, coaching and developing team members to provide career growth, exposure to new projects and overall career enrichment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement a multi-year enterprise L&D strategy benefiting all levels of talent.
• Design and oversee high-impact onboarding, consulting foundation academies, and technical development pathways.
• Develop cohort-based leadership development programs focused on practice building, commercial acumen, and mentoring to support progression to Partner.
• Ensure systematic management, tracking, and compliance of Continuing Professional Education in partnership with leadership and accrediting bodies.
• Establish standardized cultural onboarding frameworks to rapidly onboard and integrate incoming talent.
• Modernize the firm’s learning ecosystem with workshops, asynchronous micro-learning, simulations and mentoring.
• Define qualitative and quantitative KPIs measuring learning effectiveness, talent retention impact, and client delivery readiness.
