Job summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is hiring a Director of Learning & Organizational Development to lead AP’s strategy for learning, leadership development, workforce capability, succession planning and organizational effectiveness. This role oversees career pathing, talent development and learning technologies, partnering with executive leadership to build leadership capacity.

Responsibilities include building multi-year workforce plans, calibrating talent reviews, and delivering leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development or HR leadership.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams or programs.
• Experience in construction, manufacturing, or field operations preferred.
• Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CPTD preferred.
• Experience using learning technologies and analytics.
• Experience designing leadership development, succession planning and organizational effectiveness programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute company-wide learning and workforce capability strategy aligned with goals.
• Establish multi-year leadership development and talent pipeline plans.
• Lead succession planning with CHRO and senior leaders.
• Create readiness assessments and development plans for leaders.
• Design leadership development programs to strengthen succession and organizational impact.
• Partner with HR to identify high-potential talent and critical roles.
• Develop talent reviews, calibration and readiness metrics.
• Support executive coaching and targeted development initiatives.
• Prepare executive insights and talent updates for senior leadership.
• Lead and coach the Learning & Development team; manage budget.
