Job summary

General Matter is seeking an experienced Head of IT in Los Angeles to oversee the company’s IT systems and drive scalable, secure technology initiatives that support growth. You will lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise platforms, partnering with engineers to meet demanding requirements and ensure uptime across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering with 3+ years of systems administration experience; OR 5+ years of professional systems administration experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with servers in physical and virtualized environments.
• 5+ years of experience with Active Directory, Kerberos, Entra ID, and multi-platform authentication/identification environments.
• 5+ years of experience with Windows-based systems and services in both physical and virtual environments.
• 5+ years of experience in monitoring mission-critical enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with General Matter engineers to design, deploy, and support Microsoft enterprise software platforms and related technologies.
• Manage and maintain highly resilient, scalable systems.
• Propose and implement improvements using change control methodologies.
• Work with diverse groups to design and deliver solutions and resolve problems promptly.
• Define and follow standards for systems design, testing, and implementation.
• Ensure uptime and health of IT core infrastructure and security/performance improvements.
• Build automation at scale to improve efficiency.
