Job summary

General Matter is seeking an experienced Head of IT to lead and scale our IT stack across security, infrastructure, and automation. You will partner with engineering to design reliable, compliant systems and drive technology initiatives that align with our mission to power America's nuclear future.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-availability enterprise IT solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in CS/engineering or equivalent experience with 3+ years in systems administration.
• Experience managing Windows-based servers in physical and virtual environments.
• Strong AD/ Kerberos/ Entra ID and multi-factor authentication experience.
• Proficiency with monitoring, security, and scalable IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IT systems, security, and reliability to support growth.
• Collaborate with engineering to design scalable, automated environments.
• Implement standards and changes using formal change control.
• Maintain health of core IT infrastructure and uptime for critical systems.
• Drive automation, performance improvements, and cost efficiency.
