Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County Indiana seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead fundraising strategy and revenue growth. You will oversee the resource development team, engage donors, manage major gifts, and coordinate grants to advance the organization’s mission.

Reporting to the CEO, you will drive strategic initiatives, steward relationships, and ensure successful campaigns while aligning with the board and leadership team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of director-level fundraising experience.
• Proven track record of cultivating relationships with diverse supporters.
• Experience creating, scaling and sustaining major gifts and/or planned giving programs.
• Ability to organize, direct, plan, budget and coordinate initiatives.
• Strong leadership including negotiation, problem solving, decision making and delegation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage Board, staff, donors, and community partners effectively.
• Driving is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and lead the overall RD strategy for special events, individuals, grants, corporations, and foundations.
• Seek and develop innovative funding partnerships that further philanthropic goals and initiatives of BGCWC.
• Lead and grow the Annual Campaign including individual and corporate campaigns and the BGC match.
• Oversee fundraising and special events, including revenue development, sponsorships, donor engagement, volunteer involvement, and post-event evaluation.
• Educate donors about giving opportunities to advance the mission.
• Oversee capital or capacity-building campaigns.
• Assist in grant research, preparation, and evaluation.
• Oversee and sustain the Planned Giving program.
• Produce reports for board meetings and RD committee to inform members.
