Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking a Director of Cybersecurity to lead enterprise security strategy, SOC operations, and compliance. Based on-site in Playa Vista, you will guide incident response and governance for a fast-growing aerospace manufacturer with regulated environments.

You will own security budgets, drive threat intelligence, and work across IT, engineering, and executive leadership to safeguard information assets while achieving accreditations like CMMC and ISO 27001.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cybersecurity operations with 4+ years in SOC leadership or security management.
• Proficiency in security tooling and scripting; strong networking/os knowledge.
• Experience leading CMMC/ISO 27001/NIST programs including audits and continuous monitoring.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for high-pressure environments.
• U.S. person status due to export-controlled programs.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute multi-year cybersecurity strategy aligning with business goals.
• Establish and maintain security policies, standards, architectures, and playbooks across infra, cloud, endpoints, and apps.
• Own security budget, evaluations, and resource allocation; optimize spend while strengthening defenses.
• Direct SOC operations with 24/7 monitoring, detection, triage, and response.
• Lead incident response readiness, containment, eradication, and post-incident analysis.
• Oversee threat hunting, malware analysis, and threat intelligence integration.
• Oversee tooling selection and tuning (SIEM, EDR/XDR, CASB, SOAR, vulnerability mgmt).
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting on threats and risk.
• Lead governance, risk, compliance efforts including accreditations (CMMC, ISO 27001, NIST).
• Mentor and build a high-performing security team and partner with IT and executives.
