Apex Space, Inc. is seeking a Director of Cybersecurity to lead security strategy, SOC operations, and governance for a fast-growing space and satellite manufacturer. This on-site role reports to the VP of IT & Security and collaborates with IT, compliance, engineering, and leadership.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in cybersecurity, 4+ in SOC leadership, strong tooling and compliance experience, and U.S. person eligibility.

Qualificações

• 8+ years in cybersecurity operations with 4+ years in SOC leadership.
• Proficient in security tooling (SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, CASB/SASE, NESSUS, Burp Suite, firewalls) and scripting (Python, PowerShell).
• Experience leading CMMC, ISO 27001, and/or NIST 800-53/800-171 programs, including audits.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to lead under pressure.
• U.S. person eligibility due to ITAR/compliance requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Define multi-year cybersecurity strategy aligned with business goals.
• Establish security policies, reference architectures, and playbooks across infra, cloud, endpoints, and apps.
• Own security budget and technology evaluations; optimize spend.
• Lead 24/7 SOC operations, incident response, and escalation for complex incidents.
• Oversee threat hunting, malware analysis, and threat intel integration.
• Manage selection, tuning, and optimization of SIEM/EDR/IDS/IPS, CASB/SASE, SOAR, and vuln mgmt.
• Report security posture and KPIs to VP of IT & Security and leadership.
