CVS Health in the United States seeks a Senior Medical Director, Clinical Informatics to lead Epic-enabled technology initiatives across Center Operations and Quality/Stars, aligning the roadmap with clinical priorities.

This role combines hands-on clinical leadership with enterprise governance, monitoring Epic performance, and partnering with executives to improve care pathways, safety and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed clinician - MD/DO (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Med-Peds), NP, PA in good standing.
• Completion of Epic Builder training and certification (or willingness to obtain within a designated timeframe).
• Minimum 5 years of ambulatory clinical practice experience.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in clinical product, clinical informatics, safety, quality improvement, healthcare operations, or workflow redesign.
• Strong executive presence with experience presenting to and building relationships with senior stakeholders across a large enterprise.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and change management skills, with the ability to effectively partner with clinicians, operational leaders, and technical teams.
• Experience leading projects, quality improvement initiatives, or large organizational change efforts
• Knowledge of value-based care, quality metrics, and patient safety strategies.
• Familiarity with interoperability standards and healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Promoting Interoperability).
• Highly accountable and has excellent follow through

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior product leader across Clinic Operations and Quality & Stars technical domains, offering clinical insight and technical expertise to drive end-to-end technology solutions that advance care pathways and core business outcomes.
• Lead enterprise-wide Epic optimization efforts to improve clinical workflows, efficiency, quality, and patient safety.
• Work with clinical/business leaders to translate priorities into Epic workflows, decision support, reporting, and clinician tools across the enterprise.
• Support Epic upgrades, testing, implementation, and change management activities, and serve as accountable clinical sponsor for enterprise go-lives and major releases.
• Monitor adoption and effectiveness of Epic enhancements enterprise-wide and recommend continuous improvements.
• Participate in enterprise governance committees, serving as a trusted clinical advisor and point of contact on Epic-enabled technology strategy.
• Partner with physician leaders, operational leadership, and technical teams to translate needs into actionable roadmaps.
• Present enterprise status, risk, and outcomes to leadership and governance committees as needed.
• Serve as trusted partner for Clinical Informatics Safety and other safety teams.
• Escalation point for clinical and workflow issues, driving timely resolution and reduction of administrative burden.
• Champion standardization, best practices, and evidence-based care across the enterprise.
• Mentor and develop clinical informatics team members and clinician-technologists across the enterprise.
