Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in air freight, freight forwarding, logistics sales, or business development.
• Strong understanding of international air freight processes, including rate inquiries, AWB documentation, cargo tracking, and security requirements.
• Familiarity with the Chicago-area air freight market and ORD operations.
• Strong sales, negotiation, customer relationship management, and business development skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with operations teams, airline partners, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business through phone, email, networking events, in-person visits, and other sales channels, managing the complete sales cycle from initial prospecting through closing.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers through regular communication, business reviews, and follow-up to understand customer needs, resolve issues, and improve customer satisfaction and retention.
• Collaborate closely with internal operations teams and airline partners to coordinate international air freight shipments and ensure effective execution throughout the shipping process.
• Support air freight activities including rate inquiries, AWB processing, shipment tracking, and coordination of time-sensitive or specialized cargo such as high-value goods, dangerous goods, and e-commerce shipments.
• Monitor air freight market developments in the Chicago area and surrounding ORD market, including airline capacity and market trends, and provide timely insights to support sales strategy.
• Maintain accurate sales and customer activity records and provide relevant market and business updates to internal stakeholders.
