Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist - Chemistry for the evening shift. This full-time position offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus with an hourly compensation range of $34.00 to $52.70.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/MLS and ASCP certification or eligibility, with a 40-hour work week at 1.0 FTE. The MLS will perform extensive pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic laboratory duties, including specimen handling, test performance, QC, result

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field. A certified ASCP or equivalent is required or eligible.

Responsabilidades

• Performs pre-analytic workflow for the laboratory section to ensure correct test orders and proper specimen handling.
• Verifies orders and non-patient information; resolves ambiguous or unclear orders with physicians or nurses.
• Performs specimen processing, prioritizes workflow, and aliquots specimens per SOPs.
• Conducts analytical testing following SOPs; maintains system integrity and ensures reagent quality.
• Performs post-analytic activities: releases results, prepares reports, and ensures documentation and billing accuracy.
