Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist 1 for the RML Chemistry section. The role supports all assigned laboratory testing with a focus on accuracy, turnaround time, and patient care.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science and MLS ASCP certification. The role includes benefits and a $6,000 sign-on bonus, with a night shift from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM in Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science or related field as required by CLIA high complexity testing.
• MLS ASCP certification or equivalent credential required/acceptable depending on section.
• Laboratory experience or education meeting high complexity testing qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned laboratory testing and reporting for the testing area.
• Follow Rush policies, procedures and PPE requirements; maintain QA/QC standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment; document actions and notify supervisors as needed.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and well-stocked; ensure timely processing.
• Meet turnaround time expectations by prioritizing workload and communicating delays.
