Job summary

Clinical Pathology Laboratories, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Supervisor in Chemistry to lead daily operations and drive quality initiatives in a high-volume lab.

You will collaborate with leadership to optimize workflows, coach staff, and ensure timely delivery of accurate patient results. The role requires a BS in Medical Technology or related field, ASCP MLS/MT certification, and at least 3 years in a chemistry lab with moderate to high complexity testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related field with 1 year of MT training.
• ASCP certification (MLS/MT) or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical lab experience with moderate/high complexity testing, including Chemistry lab experience.
• Solid knowledge of lab quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Chemistry lab operations ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely patient results.
• Support department goals, workflow management, staffing coordination, and staff development.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, QC issues, and testing challenges as a technical resource.
• Perform and oversee moderate and high complexity testing per procedures and regs.
• Analyze, review, and report testing results accurately and efficiently.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in training, mentoring, and competency assessments of staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, accreditation and regulatory standards.
• Foster teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement within the department.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with biological and chemical hazards.
