Job summary

Mérieux NutriSciences - North America in Crete, IL is seeking a Chemist 2 to perform chemical analyses on food or pharmaceutical samples, operating instruments like GC, LC and AA, and preparing materials and data for reporting.

You will maintain instruments, follow safety policies, and support the quality system while contributing to a global mission to improve food safety through rigorous testing.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Two to five years of experience in chemistry testing.
• Basic knowledge of microbiology helpful.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical analyses on food or pharmaceutical samples.
• Operate instrumentation (GC, LC, ICPMS, Protein, Fiber, etc.).
• Prepare materials and samples for analysis and perform sample analysis.
• Prepare standards and reagents needed for the analysis procedure.
• Maintain laboratory instruments and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Identify departures from the quality system and document observations.
• Keep up-to-date on assigned training.
• Support lab management in system implementation and improvement.
