Job summary

AdvanSix is hiring for an hourly manufacturing operator in Virginia. The role involves controlling caprolactam processing steps, operating utilities, ensuring quality and safety, and performing minor maintenance.

Shift work includes holidays and overtime in a rotating 8-hour schedule. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years of manufacturing experience or technical degree, and proficient computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience or an Associate’s degree or higher in a technical or science field.
• Willing and able to work an 8-hour rotating shift including holidays, weekends, and overtime.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel
• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain control of conversion steps for caprolactam through hydrolysis, poly condensation, extrusion, leaching, and drying, finishing into blending and packaging.
• Maintain control of multiple utility systems to support operation areas.
• Monitor control information and adjust equipment to ensure quality and SOP conformance.
• Maintain safety standards and follow emergency procedures when needed.
• Prevent spills and protect the environment.
• Perform minor maintenance work and other duties as needed.
