Job summary

DIG INN Restaurant Teams in Boston, MA is seeking a Chef-in-Training. The role offers $16-$18 per hour plus $2-3 per hour in tips and additional benefits.

You will train in scratch-based kitchens, develop leadership skills, and work in a fast-paced culinary environment. You will rotate through garde manger, grill, roast, market line, and more while learning menu seasonality, food safety, and DIG’s mission to rebuild the food system.

Qualifications

• A passion for real, good food and a desire to learn culinary practices and skills.
• Ability to demonstrate and execute a strong work ethic.
• Ability to perform physical requirements (lifting up to 25 pounds, up to 50 pounds) with or without accommodations.
• Team-oriented focus and willingness to support restaurant success.

Responsibilities

• Prep, mix, and cook vegetables, proteins, grains using recipes as a guide.
• Gain exposure to different stations within the DIG kitchen (garde manger, grill, roast, market line, etc.).
• Speak to guests about current menu offerings, seasonality, and ingredients.
• Support the team during peak and off-peak service as needed.
• Maintain DIG food safety standards and uphold anti-discrimination policies.
