Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our team at Meadows on Fairview! This position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. The culinary position will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Assisted and Skilled Living Community located in Wyoming, MN.

This nutrition schedule includes:

• 60 hours every two weeks
• Day shift - 10 hours shifts
• Includes every other weekend and holiday rotation

• Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes
• Handle and prepare food in a safe manner following policies, infection control, and safety standards
• Ensure timely production and meal service to residents
• Set up line service
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use
• Assist with special events
• Assist Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff

Required:

• ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date
• Basic math skills and comfort using Microsoft applications
• Good problem-solving and time management skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred:

• Vocational/technical training, education, or degree
• High School Diploma/GED (preferred)
• Cooking experience in a similar environment
• Scratch cooking experience

Wage Range: $20.68 - $28.68 / hour
