Job Overview

Ebenezer offers a robust compensation package with excellent benefits and wages ranging from $20 - $27 / hour. Wage determinations will be based on similar experience.

Ebenezer is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our team at Martin Luther Care Center. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high-quality care. The culinary position will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Living Community located in Bloomington, MN.

This full-time culinary services position includes:

1. 80 hours per two weeks
2. Day/night shift
3. Every other weekend

Martin Luther Care Center, part of the Martin Luther Senior Living Campus, is located in East Bloomington, near woodlands/wetlands and along the Minnesota River Bluffs. Managed by Ebenezer, we offer 137 units between our Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, and Transitional Care. We have an outstanding team of tenured staff. The only thing missing is YOU! Responsibilities include:

• Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes
• Handling and preparing food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards
• Ensuring timely production and meal service to residents
• Setting up line service
• Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas after each use
• Assisting with special events
• Assisting Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff

Required:

• ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date
• Basic math skills and comfort using Microsoft applications
• Good problem-solving and time leadership skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred:

• Vocational/technical training/education/degree
• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Cooking experience in a similar environment
• Scratch cooking experience
