LCB Senior Living is hiring a Cook/Chef at The Residence at Cedar Dell. Apply today for immediate consideration!

Part-Time: 3 days per week, 7.5-hour shifts

No late nights!

Competitive Wages: $22/hr - $25/hr based on experience

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service and foster a restaurant-style dining atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Services Director and/or Executive Director to ensure resident satisfaction with food and dining programs.
  • Assist in supervising culinary staff alongside the Culinary Director.
  • Help with the preparation and implementation of dining enhancement programs.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the kitchen.
  • Follow cleaning schedules as assigned.
  • Ensure all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards.
  • Estimate and communicate food and supply needs to the Food Service Director or Assistant.
  • Participate in preparing and cooking meals following recipes and approved menus.
  • Record food temperatures prior to service and monitor refrigeration and freezer temperatures.
  • Ensure snacks and beverages are available to residents at all times.
  • Keep kitchen floors clean and trash emptied.
  • Assist with transportation and storage of food and supplies.
  • Support the preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and themed meals.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to build positive relationships, provide excellent customer service, handle multiple priorities, operate kitchen equipment safely, and follow recipes and schedules.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; 1-3 years of cooking experience in hospitality or healthcare; Serve Safe Certification.
  • Experience: Experience in healthcare or hospitality preferred.
  • Certificates/Licenses: Serve Safe Certification required.
  • Physical Demands: Dexterity, visual and auditory acuity, ability to lift at least 15 lbs, push/pull carts, and perform physical movements as required.
