Food and Nutrition Services Floating Head Cook - 8 hrs/day (190 days/school year calendar)

Position Details
  • Assignment: Open now, ASAP start date. Internal bidders apply by 5/6/25, external applicants until filled.
  • Location: Operations Department
  • Schedule: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week
  • Salary: $16.46/hr
Responsibilities
  • Assist in food preparation following recipes.
  • Set up service areas, portion, and serve food.
  • Clean and store kitchen equipment, and clean floors and tables.
  • Operate kitchen and cooking equipment, recommend maintenance.
  • Manage food and supply costs through proper storage, portion control, and stock rotation.
  • Practice good nutrition and maintain sanitation and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors.
  • Supervise food service personnel.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and food.
  • Maintain public relations with students, parents, staff, and community.
  • Plan workload, forecast requirements, and coordinate production.
  • Complete food production records and ensure food presentation quality.
  • Assist with catering and other duties as assigned.
Physical & Qualification Requirements
  • Stand for prolonged periods, lift at least 46 pounds, work in warm environments, manual dexterity required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in food service preferred.
