Job summary

Maersk in Georgia is seeking an CHB Operations Associate to coordinate shipments end-to-end, expediting orders from origin to consignee. The role supports a group of client accounts by developing familiarity with their import programs and products, and by coordinating file processing with team members and other Company work groups.

You will handle customer inquiries, process customs entries, prepare required documents, and maintain SOPs while collaborating with teammates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years CHB experience in the role or similar capacity.
• 6–12 months experience in the industry.
• Knowledge of Section 232 IEEPA tariff structure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to drive issues to closure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute shipments to meet service levels for assigned customers.
• Process customs entries and PGA for clearance, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Open entry files and process entries according to KPI guidelines.
• Complete customer billing and required reports.
• Complete tracking and tracing for inbound shipments.
• Coordinate operations from airline, ocean piers and CFS to destination.
• Ensure documentation/upload into operating system and maintain customer SOPs.

Job description

The CHB Operations Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing shipments to ensure service levels of clients are met on a daily basis. This role supports a group of client accounts by expediting their shipments from start to finish; by development of familiarity with their import programs and products; by coordinating file processing with team members and other Company work groups.

Key responsibilities:

Own all CHB operations services for the customers assigned to them, including but not limited to:

• Providing customer service to assigned customers and assisting customers with questions and requests for information.
• Processing Customs entries and PGA for clearance of goods, ensuring full compliance of all Customs and PGA regulations.
• Opens entry files, and subsequently processes entries according to outlined KPI
• Completes customer billing and/or other required reports.
• Completes tracking and tracing for inbound shipments.
• Coordination of Operations for shipments from airline, ocean piers and CFS (container freight station) to customer/consignee destination.
• Required to ensure that required documentation / entry package is uploaded into operating system
• Maintain customer SOPs and make updates as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CHB
• 6 -12 months of experience in the industry
• Knowledge of Section 232 IEEPA tariff structure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently
• Persistently drives issues to closure
• Well organized, detail oriented – especially when working under pressure
• Works together with others in the business unit to achieve results, fosters teamwork
• Ability to multi-task in a face paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, or equivalent work experience
• Customs House Brokerage License preferred but not required

Salary

$56,000 - $60,000*

* The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for this position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
