Job summary

Maersk is seeking a CHB Operations Associate to coordinate and execute shipments for multiple client accounts in the United States. The role focuses on expediting shipments from start to finish by understanding import programs and coordinating file processing with the team and other groups.

Responsibilities include processing customs entries, coordinating with forwarders, and ensuring timely release of shipments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CHB experience
• 6–12 months of industry experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Detail oriented and well organized
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, or equivalent experience
• Customs House Brokerage License preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to assigned customers and assist with questions and information requests
• Process Customs entries and PGA for clearance of goods
• Open entry files and process entries per KPI
• Coordinate clearance of shipments with forwarders and lines to ensure timely release
• Complete customer billing and reports
• Track inbound shipments and maintain documentation
• Coordinate operations for shipments from airline/ocean piers to destination
• Ensure documentation is uploaded into the operating system
• Maintain and update customer SOPs

Job description

The CHB Operations Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing shipments to ensure service levels of clients are met on a daily basis. This role supports a small group of client accounts by expediting their shipments from start to finish; by development of familiarity with their import programs and products; by coordinating file processing with team members and other Company work groups.

Key responsibilities

• Providing customer service to assigned customers and assisting customers with questions and requests for information.
• Processing Customs entries and PGA for clearance of goods, ensuring full compliance of all Customs and PGA regulations.
• Opens entry files, and subsequently processes entries according to outlined KPI
• Coordinates clearance of shipments with forwarders, Steamship Lines, Airlines, to ensure shipments are released timely.
• Completes customer billing and/or other required reports.
• Completes tracking and tracing for inbound shipments.
• Coordination of Operations for shipments from airline, ocean piers and CFS (container freight station) to customer/consignee destination.
• Required to ensure that required documentation / entry package is uploaded into operating system
• Maintain customer SOPs and make updates as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CHB
• 6 -12 months of experience in the industry
• Cargo Wise experience highly desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate confidently
• Persistently drives issues to closure
• Well organized, detail oriented – especially when working under pressure
• Works together with others in the business unit to achieve results, fosters teamwork
• Ability to multi-task in a face paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required, or equivalent work experience
• Customs House Brokerage License preferred but not required

Salary

$56,000 - $60,000*

• The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for this position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
