Job summary

BUNNELL LAMMONS ENGINEERING is seeking a Department Manager for Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation in the Charlotte area. This senior role leads the new department, directing technical delivery, staff development, and client service while partnering with the Charlotte Branch Manager to grow the practice.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in environmental consulting, PE/PG registration preferred, and strong leadership, budgeting, and proposal experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline required; advanced degree or specialized environmental training preferred.
• Professional registration as a PE or PG in North Carolina is strongly preferred; other environmental certifications encouraged.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, including project management and staff leadership.
• Experience with due diligence, site investigation, remediation, and regulatory-closure projects including Phase I/II assessments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain corporate standards, ethics, and regulatory compliance throughout the department.
• Establish departmental priorities, workflows, and best practices for quality, efficiency, and profitability.
• OverseeDue diligence, site investigation, remediation, and regulatory-closure projects from scoping to closure.
• Plan and coordinate project activities including field work, sampling, lab analyses, and schedules.
• Guide data interpretation, site-model development, and evaluation of remedial alternatives.
• Lead QA/QC and review proposals, work plans, and reports; provide technical guidance.
