Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Cardiovascular Operating Room Charge RN at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. The role emphasizes clinical leadership, mentorship, and coordination for a sub-specialty patient population within a busy OR team.

The position requires a minimum of 2 years RN experience with strong CVOR exposure; charge responsibilities and department-specific ACLS requirements may apply. In-person, full-time, day shifts with some on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience.
• Strong preference for 2 years Operating Room experience as an RN.
• Charge experience is preferred.
• BLS and RN licensure required; ACLS if required by department.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in care of a sub-specialty group of patients and provide managerial oversight.
• Serve as a professional role model for the nursing team.
• Maintain professional accountability and development per best practice standards.
• Act as mentor and resource for team members and share information.
• Perform preceptor and charge nurse roles when assigned.

• Status: Fulltime
• Shift: 5:30 AM - 7:00 PM
• On Call: Yes
• Always in person

Summary:

The Cardiovascular Operating Room Charge RN responsibilities include:

• Proficient in the care of a sub-specialty group of patients utilizing effective managerial skills
• Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
• Is responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
• Acts as a mentor and resource expert, supports and shares organizational information to all team members
• Performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

This position requires a minimum of 2 years RN experience. For this position, we strongly prefer at least 2 years Operating Room experience as an RN. Strong preference for 2 years of CVOR RN experience. Charge experience is preferred. Board running experience is preferred.
